Hello. Is It Me You're Looking For.

Don't worry you've not accidently stumbled across a Lionel Ritchie appreciation page, instead its the first blog by myself, Duncan Milne, to introduce you to both me and my work.

My names Duncan and I'm a photographer from Aberdeen. During lockdown some people became fitness instructors, some people baked bread, some may have even combined the two I don't know. As for me I took up photography, this was mainly due to whilst being out on the many walks we were forced into I started to take more notice of the world around me and wanted to capture it the best I could. The creative side of my brain is non existent or very well hidden so photography would seem like an unusual hobby to undertake, but I feel after a really slow start I'm to get the hang of it.

Photography is very much like golf. I've only played one round of golf but just from that one time I've noticed many similarities. In golf you can hit a shot so sweetly you think you're the next Rory McIlroy only to spend the rest of the round hacking away widely and getting more and more frustrated. That's exactly how I feel towards photography, some days you nail the perfect shot then others you just want to throw your gear in the bin, I've had that thought at least once believe me.

I hope to post regularly to try and get my work seen more widely as despite the prevalence of social media, the dreaded algorithms and possibly the over saturation of photography make it almost impossible to be noticed. I won't be doing gear reviews or settings advice there are lots of others far better placed for that. Instead I'll just document my journey, places and events I've been to and to photograph and my experiences along the way.
